Dear Parents,

 

There was a lot covered at back to school night so I have included some of the more important points here. 

 

Attendance: Your child's daily attendance is very important to assure continuity in their 3rd Grade education. Please make sure they are on time and are in school every day. We cover a lot of content and every single minute counts. 

 

Communication: I feel that communication from school to home is very important. I will email parents if I am concerned about the student's academic progress or if there is a serious behavior issue. Each student has a communication journal which should be in their back packs at all times. I will have them write notes in these journals to communicate with you directly. Anything typical, relative to behavior, the child will detail in the journal and your signature will be requested. In turn, if you have a question for me please have your child write it in the journal for me. This involves them directly with their education. It fosters responsible awareness and independence in your student if it is something not serious or urgent and your child can take care of. Any kind of graded work will be sent home on Thursdays. This needs to be signed by parents and returned on Friday.

Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences. Many of you have already signed up at Back to School night. Sophia created a "sign up genius" and as soon as she receives all your contact email addresses she will forward it to everyone so those of you who still need to schedule a time, will be able to do so.
